In celebration of the Cincinnati Reds 150th anniversary as a professional baseball team, they installed benches around Cincinnati. The benches displayed Mr. Redlegs wearing various uniforms of the club’s history and on the bench had an explanation of the uniforms, which was perfect for the casual observer.
We already had a great time at the Reds Opening Day Parade but I did not have Vince in 2015 when the giant mustaches were installed to celebrate Cincinnati having the All-Star game.
The benches were installed in front of Cincinnati landmarks and since it was summertime so many took advantage of sharing their photos on Instagram so it made for great scrolling activity!
One of the last photos I took was at Fountain Square and it was the one Cincinnati Magazine asked to include in the November 2019 issue for their corner snapshot!
I had a goal of taking Vince to see most of the benches, knowing I would not be in Dayton, Ohio, Louisville, KY and I couldn’t take him into the Cincinnati Zoo, but the others were fair game!
Vince loves being outside, but the heat and humid can be a bit too much so I took him out EARLY on the weekends for the photos.
Of course one would be at Great American Ballpark!
I was disappointed to see the graffiti and arm broken off one of the benches, but I’m not surprised because some people just have to ruin it for others.
This was the first photo I took and it was during the Mustache Dash so we detoured during the race to snap a photo and that’s why he isn’t wear his jersey.
I was at the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky airport with Vince to travel to NYC, but people were really taking their time getting photos and we had a flight to catch.
I’m so excited to have these photos to remember this occasion!
